DARK MOON BOOKS -- In The Works...

The following books are also on Dark Moon Books’ publication list and scheduled for release within the next three months.

WRITE of the LIVING DEAD

Two redhead academics and a horror publisher walk into a bar... during a zombie apocalypse. Armed with only their wits and a fully-charged laptop battery, they hammered out the world's darkest writing manual amidst the flurry and chaos of gnashing teeth and rotting cadavers. Each chapter of the handbook is devoted to a different genre of writing--everything from academic writing (complete with MLA and APA sample essays), business writing, fiction and even poetry--all of it with a dark and undead twist. The book's co-authors (Araminta Star Matthews, Rachel Lee and Stan Swanson) will have this one ready for launch at the 2012 World Horror Convention with a foreword by HWA President, Rocky Wood.

Dark Tales of Lost Civilizations (Edited by Eric J. Guignard) Darkness exists everywhere, and in no place greater than those where spirits and curses still reside. In "Dark Tales of Lost Civilizations", you will unearth an anthology of previously unpublished horror and speculative fiction stories relating to civilizations that are lost, or have been forgotten, or have been rediscovered, or perhaps merely spoken about in great and fearful whispers.

Voracious! (Kevin McClintock) A novella from the author of No Vacancies and Tenants coming early 2012.

Rain (Jennifer Word) A novella that will make you think twice the next time you hear raindrops on your roof. Coming earl 2012.

The Pizza from Hell (Richard Moore) You just never know when that grocery store freezer door might open the gates of hell. Can you say “clean up on aisle 13?” Coming early 2012.

The Best of Dark Moon Digest will be a special hard-cover edition (with dust jacket) of the best stories printed in the first six issues of Dark Moon Digest. It will launch at the 2012 World Horror Convention in Salt Lake City. Pre-orders for this limited edition (500 copies only!) will begin in January.

Also on the 2012 schedule is The Ultimate Survival Guide for Humanity by Max Booth III and Stan Swanson, Abattoir by Christopher Leppek and Emanuel Isler and Night of the Scream Queen: Kiss of the Gator Guy by Mike McCarty and Linnea Quigley (yes, that's right, she of The Return of the Living Dead fame). We are also planning 3-4 more anthologies possibly including volume 2 of the highly successful Frightmares flash fiction collection.

Slices of Flesh is also in the works. This one's gonna rock! Check out additional information on this flash fiction collection when you get a chance.

Dark Moon Books only publishes horror. If you write paranormal romance with vampires and werewolves, it is probably not our thing unless there is a real "scare" factor involved. Think Stephen King not Stephenie Meyer!

The story style does not matter. It can be anything from a slasher type story (although we have to admit right up front, those are not our favorites) to a humorous tale or anything in between. But most importantly, it must be an entertaining horror short story. We must want to turn that page to see what happens next and how things end. Oh, and don’t forget scary. That is, perhaps, the most important consideration. Scary, gruesome, macabre, gory, frightening, shocking dark and suspenseful--well, you get the idea.

We also publish Dark Moon Digest, a quarterly publication for horror fans. Visit www.darkmoondigest.com for details.
